Navratri
नवरात्रि
“Nine nights of Devi — fasting, prayer, and sacred shakti”
Significance of Navratri
Navratri — meaning "nine nights" — is one of the most significant and widely celebrated Hindu festivals, observed four times a year with the Sharad Navratri (autumn) in Ashwin month being the most prominent. Over nine days and nights, devotees fast, pray, and worship the nine manifestations of Devi Durga (the Navadurga): Shailaputri, Brahmacharini, Chandraghanta, Kushmanda, Skandamata, Katyayani, Kalaratri, Mahagauri, and Siddhidatri.
