The Purana katha tells of a poor but devoted brahmin household that received relief and spiritual upliftment through the observance of Parama Ekadashi. Devotees fast, worship Vishnu, chant "Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya," read the katha, and perform daan with the understanding that all merit in Purushottam Maas is multiplied.
Gau Seva on Parama Ekadashi is especially powerful because Adhik Maas is a corrective month, inserted to restore cosmic balance. Feeding Gaumata on this rare day becomes a balancing act in one's own life: returning nourishment where one has received nourishment, and offering Vishnu a living act of compassion.
