Kundli means Vedic birth chart
Families in India often search “Kundli” or “Janam Kundali.” Outside India, the same request is usually “Vedic birth chart” or “sidereal birth chart.” Daanyam uses one engine for both — Swiss Ephemeris with Lahiri ayanāṃśa.
What the chart holds
| Part | What it is |
|---|---|
| Lagna | Sidereal rising sign. Needs a birth time. |
| Moon | Sidereal Chandra rashi. Not the Sun sign. |
| Sun | Sidereal solar sign. |
| Nakshatra | The Moon's birth star, which starts Vimshottari. |
| Houses | Twelve life themes counted from Lagna. This page does not print house degrees. |

| Time | 14:30 |

When a Western sign disagrees
A tropical app can name a different sign for the same birth. That gap is the ayanamsa on the birth date, not a second clock time. Daanyam does not compute a tropical chart.

FAQ
- What is a Vedic birth chart?
- A Vedic birth chart — also called a Kundli or Janam Kundali — maps the sky at your birth using the sidereal zodiac. It is the foundation for Dasha periods, yogas, and most Vedic astrology readings.
- Is Kundli the same as a birth chart?
- Yes. Kundli (Janam Kundali) is the Sanskrit / Hindi name for a Vedic birth chart. This page uses the global English label and opens Daanyam’s free Kundli Explainer.
- Do I need to pay?
- No for the free explainer. An optional Janam Patrika PDF is available afterward if you want a longer written reading — it is not required to see your free chart.
