Career Prediction by Date of Birth
This free tool reads your career from your Vedic birth chart: the 10th and 6th houses, your running Mahadasha and Antardasha, and favourable and cautious windows. Enter your date of birth, birth time and birthplace.
How this is calculated
Your birth date, time and birthplace are converted to Universal Time and passed to two calculations. The first finds your sidereal planet positions and Lagna (ascendant) with the Lahiri ayanamsa and whole-sign houses. The second builds your Vimshottari Dasha timeline from the Moon's nakshatra. Both use a professional ephemeris: NASA JPL DE440 through Daanyam's astro engine, or the in-house Swiss Ephemeris.
From the chart, the tool takes the lord of your 10th house (career and public standing) and of your 6th house (daily work, service and competition). Each lord is rated strong when it is exalted, in moolatrikona or in its own sign, or sits in the 1st, 10th or 11th house. It is rated challenged when debilitated, in an enemy sign, or in the 6th, 8th or 12th house. Otherwise it is moderate. Planets sitting in those houses are listed.
The career phase comes from the running Antardasha lord: Jupiter, Sun, Mercury and Venus read as growth, Saturn and Moon as stable, and Rahu, Ketu and Mars as transition. Timing windows come from your actual Dasha dates, not from a generic calendar.
Which house shows career in Vedic astrology?
The 10th house, called karma bhava, is the main house of career. It shows your vocation, status and how the world sees your work. Its sign, its lord and any planets in it are read first.
The 6th house shows daily work, employment, service and the competition you face, so it matters for jobs and exams. The 2nd house (earnings) and the 11th house (gains and networks) support the reading, and astrologers often check the Dashamsha (D-10) divisional chart for finer detail about profession.
How does Dasha affect career timing?
The birth chart shows potential; the Dasha shows when it is active. A strong 10th lord delivers most visibly during its own Mahadasha or Antardasha, or that of planets connected to the 10th house.
This is why two people with similar charts can have very different career years. The tool names your running Antardasha, gives its start and end month, and adds the next classically favourable window and up to two periods where caution is advised.
Can astrology tell me which career suits me?
It can point to tendencies, not a single job title. The tool lists fields that classically match your running Dasha combination and your chart's career indicators, such as communication-led work in a Mercury period or structured, long-horizon work in a Saturn period.
Treat these as prompts to test against your skills, training and the job market. No honest Jyotish reading guarantees a particular role, offer or salary, and none should replace practical career advice.
What does a growth, stable or transition phase mean?
Growth means the running chapter classically supports expansion: learning, promotion, visibility or a new role. Stable means consolidation, where steady delivery, systems and reputation matter more than sudden moves.
Transition means change is likely or already underway, so it is a period for testing options carefully before irreversible decisions. If your 10th lord is challenged during a Rahu or Ketu period, the tool reads it as transition.
Frequently asked questions
Can I get a career prediction by date of birth only?
You can enter only a date, but the reading will be less reliable. The 10th and 6th houses depend on your Lagna, which changes about every two hours, so birth time and place matter. Without a time, the tool uses 12:00 noon and marks house-based results as estimates, while Dasha periods usually stay close.
Is this career prediction free?
Yes. The whole result is free with no sign-up: career phase, current Mahadasha and Antardasha, 10th and 6th house analysis, scorecard, timing windows, strengths, challenges, suitable fields and simple remedies. Nothing is locked, blurred or paid, and there are no coins or credits involved in reading your result on this page.
Which planet is responsible for career?
No single planet. The lord of your 10th house is the main career significator in your chart. Classically, the Sun relates to authority and government work, Saturn to discipline and long effort, Mercury to commerce and communication, and Jupiter to teaching and advice. Which one dominates depends on your Lagna and Dasha.
When will I get a job according to astrology?
Astrology gives windows, not dates. Periods ruled by your 10th or 11th house lord, or by planets placed in those houses, are classically supportive for getting a job. The tool shows your current Antardasha and the next favourable window. Preparation, applications and market conditions still decide when an offer actually arrives.
Is this a good time to change my job?
Check the phase and windows in your result. A growth phase or a favourable window supports a planned move, while a transition phase or a caution window suggests verifying offers and avoiding irreversible leaps. Use it as one input alongside your finances, the role itself and advice from people who know your field.
Can astrology tell job or business?
It shows a lean, not a verdict. A strong 10th house with Saturn or Sun influence classically favours service and institutions, while a strong 7th house, Mercury and Mars favour independent trade and enterprise. Capital, skills, risk appetite and market demand matter as much as the chart when choosing between the two.
How accurate is a career prediction?
The planet positions and Dasha dates are calculated precisely from your birth data. The interpretation follows classical rules applied the same way for everyone, so it describes tendencies and timing rather than certain events. Accuracy depends most on a correct birth time, because the 10th and 6th houses come from your Lagna.
