Do Planets in Houses Change With Dasha Periods?
Your planet-in-house map stays fixed for life — it's set at birth. What changes is which planet is currently "active" through the Vimshottari Dasha system, a sequence of planetary periods (mahadasha) and sub-periods (antardasha) that run in a fixed order across your lifetime. When a planet's dasha begins, the house it sits in — and the house(s) it rules — tend to become noticeably more active in your life. House placement always starts from your Lagna (ascendant) — the sign rising on the eastern horizon at your exact birth moment, which becomes your 1st house. Every other house is counted forward from there, which is why two people born on the same date can have completely different house charts if their birth times differ. How Do I Find Out Which Planets Are in My Houses?
