What is the difference between Mahadasha and Antardasha?+−
Mahadasha is the long major period ruled by one planet. Antardasha (Bhukti) is a sub-period inside the Mahadasha, ruled by another planet in a fixed sequence. Together they describe which planetary combination is active now. Pratyantar is a still finer sub-period under Antardasha.
